What’s Glory?

christ in us the hope of glory

When my son was three years old he asked me, “What’s glory?” He asked me this several times over the course of a few weeks. And at the time, I really didn’t know.

We had recently moved to a new area of the state and as a result I was “church shopping.” I asked two different pastors from two different well established churches and they didn’t really have a direct answer and had to ponder on it before responding. At first I told my son, “I think it’s God’s essence.” But I really didn’t know.

A few years later, I read the words from Mahesh Chavda and he said, “Glory is the physical manifestation of God’s presence.”

Oh my! It all clicked!! So concise! Since reading these words, I’ve been on a mission to experience the glory of God as often as possible. There’s nothing like it. Nothing better.
Sometimes when the glory of God is revealed it is easy to explain because it’s concrete – such as in the case of healing and various other miracles. Other times it’s hard to explain because we’ll see or experience something that we’ve never seen or experienced ever before.

But understand that we are glory carriers because Christ lives in us.

This brings new revelation to the scripture that states, “Christ in you, the hope of glory.”

Full Verse | To them God has chosen to make known among the Gentiles the glorious riches of this mystery, which is Christ in you, the hope of glory. – Colossians 1:27

Wherever we go, wherever we are at, we have a hope that the glory of God could manifest in the natural at any given moment. How cool is that?

If you’re ever stuck and don’t know how to pray ask for God’s glory. When God’s glory is present that means that God is handing out presents!

Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows. – James 1:17

  • Need healing?
  • Need help with finances?
  • Need favor?
  • Need peace?
  • Need deliverance?
  • Need a radical miracle?
  • Need protection from harm?

Ask for God’s glory to manifest in your situation!

For nothing will be impossible with God. – Luke 1:37

Oh how amazing it is to be in the midst of God’s glory.

…and my spirit rejoices in God my Savior, – Luke 1:47

Now, I’m wondering if anyone noticed a trend. See the scriptural numbers? (1:17 | 1:27 | 1:37 | 1:47…and on and on) God also makes it easy and fun to memorize scripture!

Don’t Stop Reading…It Keeps Getting Better

And…the very next verse in this sequence is literally an illustration of what can happen when God’s glory falls on his beloved people. This next verse is about Elizabeth giving birth to her son John. We all know the miracles in this story – or now we can stay the manifestation of God’s glory in this story. So amazing, so beautiful. I love God so much. Isn’t he fun!

When it was time for Elizabeth to have her baby, she gave birth to a son. – Luke 1:57

Another miracle in this story revealing God’s glory in the next number sequence.

And his father Zacharias was filled with the Holy Ghost, and prophesied saying, – Luke 1:67

And the most important gift of all….still going…

To give knowledge of salvation to his people by the remission of their sins, – Luke 1:77

And…if you want to get geeky…1+7+7 = 15. Five stands for the grace of God. This is triple grace friends!! Meaning, we did nothing to deserve God’s glory. We did nothing to deserve his salvation. It’s be the grace of God that we can freely receive these gifts.

May I leave you with another key scripture.

Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse those who have leprosy, drive out demons. Freely you have received; freely give. – Matthew 10:8

We have come full circle. WE ARE GLORY CARRIERS! If Christ is living in your children, tell them that they too are glory carriers. As glory carriers are mandate is stated in Matthew 10:8. It fulfills the first commandment in Genesis to subdue the earth.

But wait…I just realized that this kicks off another number sequence!!

The eyes of your understanding being enlightened; that ye may know what is the hope of his calling, and what the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints. – Ephesians 1:18

This is what it means to be a glory carrier.

God blessed them and said to them, “Be fruitful and increase in number; fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky and over every living creature that moves on the ground.” – Genesis 1:28

Are we willing?

“I am the Lord’s servant,” Mary answered. “May your word to me be fulfilled.” Then the angel left her. – Luke 1:38

Our inheritance as glory carriers…literally…Mary was carrying the physical manifestation of God’s glory…Jesus.

…for he has been mindful of the humble state of his servant. From now on all generations will call me blessed, – Luke 1:48

The inheritance is not just for us. It’s for our neighbors too! Our loved ones benefit along with us.

Her neighbors and relatives heard that the Lord had shown her great mercy, and they shared her joy. – Luke 1:58

We give thanks to you God for your grace and mercy as you pour out your glory on us!

“Praise be to the Lord, the God of Israel, because he has come to his people and redeemed them. – Luke 1:68

It is all because God is merciful and kind to us. He loves us.

Because of the tender mercy of our God, by which the rising sun will come to us from heaven – Luke 1:78

That’s it…it’s all about LOVE. His love for us. I need to dive into this more…this is so good. I could write forever about this.

I hope you found this study process as much fun and amazing as I did. Need a great Bible study guide? Just open up Google and ask Holy Spirit what scripture reference to look up and keep going! LOL ;-D I’ve seen “trends” like this soooo many times. You just can’t make this stuff up! God is so intentional. Now that’s God’s glory!

PS This discovery scripture hunt all came from Colossians 1:27. The verse had been playing in my head for days. Just this evening as I began to type up what the Lord was saying, I began to find all of these scripture references. Really fun…I could keep going on and on, but the guys just got back from basketball practice and the bedtime routine has to kick off!! LOL (Scheduling this for 12/2 @9AM EST!)

PSS I was doodling this scripture super late November 30. The Lord was trying to get my attention!
